About

exotic.hosting is a mad attempt at cataloguing hosts in exotic locations. Whether you're seeking a specific location for latency, globalisation, regulatory compliance, or simply enthusiast reasons, the goal of exotic.hosting is to be good starting point for research.

Define "exotic"

The vast majority of web hosting in the world is done in the US, UK, Germany, Netherlands, and France. While finding hosts in other locations has got better over time, there is still a whole planet out there full of webhosts in less common (i.e. exotic) locations.

Location refers to the physical location of the (host) servers.

Servers in exotic locations offered by hosts incorporated/based in non-exotic locations are permitted on this website. The inverse - exotic location hosting company offering servers in a non-exotic location - is not.

Define "hosting"

Virtual Private Servers (VPS), Dedicated Servers, Co-Location, and S3 buckets.

Why S3? Because I use it a lot and often need it in specific locations for regulatory compliance purposes.

Why not X? Depends on what the value of X is:

  1. Shared Hosting: not interesting to me.
  2. VPN and Proxies: not interesting to me.
  3. Email: maybe but not really.
  4. Domains: maybe in the future.
  5. Game Servers: maybe in the future.

Did I miss something? Let's talk about it.

How to get listed

One of two ways:

  1. User submitted: goes into a review queue.
  2. Added by me: either actively scouting or just stumbling upon something.

If you want to submit, head over to Submit. You will need to create an account in order to submit. Note that anyone can submit anyone. You don't have to be a host to submit. Even if you are a host, you can submit other hosts.

Regrading hyperscalers

I went back and forth on this for a long time. Ultimately, I landed on including hyperscalers (Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, et cetera) here.

They don't fit the purist spirit of an exotic host, but they do help solve a problem for someone who needs a server in a specific geographic location.

Regarding resellers

Resellers of exotic hosts are listed here. Why? For three reasons.

  1. A reseller can have a value-add such as more payment methods, accepting customers more countries.
  2. A reseller can incorporated/based in a location that for regulatory reasons is preferrable or required.
  3. It's really hard to tell sometimes, as many resellers resell multiple sources or combine reselling with own services.

In a perfect world, this website would only list resellers that have a bonafide value-add. However, it's simply not feasible.

Regarding geo-IP spoofing

Hosts that engage in geo-IP spoofing and do not genuinely host servers in the stated locations and hide this fact are not welcome here.

If you spot any listed on this website, please let me know.

How to read the table

Service ticks reflect what the provider sells in that city, not company or even country wide. However, in many cases, it can be hard to tell the difference and availability can change.

A "?" means unpublished or unverified — which is not the same as "no".

The philosophy of Exotic.Hosting isn't necessarily to be the one source of truth. It's to be a spring-board for your own research and due diligence.

Host HQ location

The HQ column is where the company is incorporated/based. I try to verify this to the best of my abilities, within the time constraints of this being a side project. It doesn't help that a lot of hosts simply don't state where they are from. Furthermore, some hosts have entities in multiple locations. In those cases, the one listed is intended to be their primary location.

However, I believe that this is an important addition. Where your host is incorporated or based can matter just as much as the location of the server itself.

In many cases, I have had to make an educated guess. Hosts that have multiple entities in multiple locations have been assigned what I perceive to be the headquarter location.

Background and acknowledgements

A long time ago in a galaxy very close, I was involved in running a similar website called ExoticVPS.com. As life changed, so did priorites for hobby projects, and ExoticVPS.com was abandoned sometime around 2015-2016.

However, it seems the torch was picked up by ExoticVM.com. Unfortunately, it seems to be inactive since 2022.

The reality is that these lists take a surprising amount of work. In this incarnation, I have tried to simplify things by not going into details about technologies, bandwidth, port speed, specs, pricing, payment methods, et cetera. They change so frequently. Something that doesn't change as often is the set of services offered.

The listings on exotic.hosting are heavily borrowed from ExoticVPS.com and ExoticVM.com. Since both original sources are quite aged at this point, the list as of writing (August 2026) likely has a lot of dead or outdated links. However, I am taking the time I can to verify many and will be updating or removing outdated listings.

Sources and thanks

The list as published at the launch of website in August 2026 draws heavily from both ExoticVM.com and the old ExoticVPS database. On top of that, a few hundred entries are my own.

ccTLDs

Not all ccTLDs are controlled in the country they are from. The vast majority are but there are some noteable exceptions. As of August 2026, I have gone through them all and noted down the effective place of control, i.e. where the registry is based.

There is nuance to several of them, though, where the running of the ccTLD registry is outsourced and/or split between multiple entities in multiple countries.

As with all information on this website, do not treat the ccTLD page as absolute truth. If you are in a position where jurisdiction of registry matters, do your own due diligence.

Registration requirements vary too much that I deemed it hopeless to try to include them here. However, excluding inactive ccTLDs and a few specific countries, any ccTLD is probably registerable directly, with a local agent, or by setting up a local company.

In some cases, the official registry website is not working.

AI and LLM disclosure

This website would have taken weeks longer to roll out were it not for Claude Code.

However, no AI has been used for identifying listings. Mistakes and errors are 100% mine. That may change, who knows. AI moves quickly.

Kind regards,

Dupondt
